While Lion’s Road Pro-Wrestling’s Second Anniversary Show and KAMIKAZE Pro’s Lords of the Ring Tournament are dominating headlines across social media, we received a shocking report late in the evening and have confirmed with doctors: Julian Cutlass – the #1 contender for the MAX-J Junior Heavyweight Championship – suffered a broken collarbone during his encounter with fellow Original Generation superstar, Teddy Davis, and will be out of action for the next 3 months. Solomon Bentley was in attendance covering the Cutlass/Davis match. He spoke to Cutlass shortly after he was released from the hospital regarding his thoughts and the ramifications of this unfortunate development.
The LORDS OF THE RING Tournament has concluded. Although Team MAX Japan was eliminated in the second round by Joey and the Pussycats, the team displayed honor and nobility despite the losing effort. On the last night of the show, Tokyo Zombie participated in a qualifier for the Rey de Vuelo Tournament and eliminated two fighters before being eliminated by the last opponent. Mike Musket and his “good buddies” pairing with ZENKI fought in a tag team gauntlet that saw them eliminate two of the teams, but it would be the unstoppable and on fire King of Lions Champion AJ Knight – paired with MAX-J Heavyweight Champion Ben Chrenshaw – who would pin Musket for the second time this year to end the run of the “good buddies”!
We’d like to thank KAMIKAZE Pro for inviting MJPW participation on this enormous showcase and will continue our cooperation with other companies around Japan and fellow affiliates of the Laurentide Athletic commission.

In a hospital lobby, Julian Cutlass is in street clothes, wearing a pair of black joggers and an orange MJPW tee. His arm in a sling. Solomon Bentley stands next to him with a microphone in his hand.
SOLOMON BENTLEY:
Julian, how’s the collarbone?
JULIAN CUTLASS:
It’s unfortunate, but these things happen, you know? I’m just glad the surgery went well. Now it’s all about recovery and rehab. I’m trying to get back for the summer tag league in July. I hear that MJPW is hosting this year, so I’m psyched. I’ll be there.
SOLOMON BENTLEY:
This raises an important question. You’re currently the #1 contender for the MAX-J Junior Heavyweight Championship, a match that we understand will take place on a 5/16 May special event. Obviously the Laurentide Athletic Commission won’t clear you for competition, have you heard any news on this front?
JULIAN CUTLASS:
Yeah, I just got off the phone with General Manager Sano. He called to give me his support and told me we could hold off the match, but I told him to go on ahead. He asked me to nominate a contender to take my place.
SOLOMON BENTLEY:
A huge development. Who do you have in mind?
JULIAN CUTLASS:
Well, Matt Pulver’s a beast, you know? Someone capable of unseating him as the top junior in Japan would have to be as fast, strong, and technicaly sound as….
Cutlass’ eyes widen.
JULIAN CUTLASS:
Gotta go, Solomon!
Cutlass quickly walks off the screen leaving Solomon Bentley alone with a mic in his hands.
SOLOMON BENTLEY:
Well, folks, it looks like the Blazin’ King has someone in mind! But who could it be?! JULIAN! Come back, Julian...!
