((As you all may know the boards were not working for about an hour before deadline and just now got back up. I sent the doc to the admin before deadline just in case. See the screen for that here:
. So yeah enjoy and good luck))
Tokyo Zombie is on a beach where it looks like there will be a storm. The wind billows his robes about as he writes in the sand with a long stick. Eech stroke gets erased somewhat as he goes on.
“I find myself in this position of advantage without much expectation. I only ever set out to fight well. This attitude, compared with a clear mind has taken me to the top of my block in the J1 Summit. Now I am set up to face Nakama-san once again. I will not comment on the unfortunate need for an excuse by that man’s mouthpiece. That such a man would need another to translate his natural tongue into such vulgar phrases makes him weak. It neuters the spirit that he was born with.... But I digress.
There are now four competitors remaining in this tournament. The fears of chaos in the Demon Brigade have been assuaged. We fought against each other and we remain strong. The only hope for Max Japan is that it will be an all Demon Brigade finale. If I face off against Zeki you are guaranteed to get two fighters that have the best in mind for Max Japan and Japan itself. First we must take on Hammerstein and Nakama-san to make this happen.”
He wipes the sand in front of him clear then continues.
“Before the J1 Summit I spoke about reaching emptiness. I believe we are here. I am without loss and without pain. The Demon Brigade is poised to make a clean sweep of the tournament, but we are not there yet. The goal is to reach Nirvana and we can use the Four Noble Truths to get there. Once we recognize these truths then perhaps we will be free from the cycle of rebirth and suffering.”
He writes the characters 苦諦
“The first one is acknowledging that there will always be suffering. This is Hammerstein’s domain. This is a man that does not know what to fight for. Hence he is forever looking for a reason to fight. At first this tournament was beneath him because all the competitors last year were so above him. Now that he is here he sees it as a way to earn. He does not seek guidance or absolution. He only seeks the material wealth of a corrupt body.“
While he talks he writes 集諦
“The second noble truth is that there is a cause to our suffering. Nakama-san is familiar with this with Mr. Cunningham from the Xpress Fighting Systems bleeding him dry like a leech. This man is so massive and strong. He is of good stock. But this Cunningham only siphons off that strength for himself. Never have I seen a man wanting to be so famous for standing next to someone great. With the way he harps at ringside one would think the battle was with silence itself. My mind was not affected, but Nakama-san was. I hope this time he will see the way and know what to do when in peril. I am afraid that there will be that much more trouble for him in this match. I intend to continue on my path and go to the third truth.”
Next is 滅諦
“That is the third truth. It is that there is an ending of suffering. That is Zenki. That man set me back on my path when I returned to Japan, and this organization has been all the better for it. It does not matter what happens in this place, but Demon Brigade will be the one overseeing things. We do not fight for leadership among the group we only fight for our satisfaction and curiosity.”
Finally he writes the characters of 道諦
“That is what I strive for. I am the fourth noble truth, and that is simply following the path to nirvana. Right now I am not there yet so I continue along The Way. That is why I am undefeated. This pursuit along this path allows me to stay pure in the face of danger and disagreement. It allows me to fight freely. Yet I fear that I will not be reaching Nirvana on this life There are too many connections. Too many things to do. Maybe in my next life I will break the cycle of suffering. But I know that in this life…”
He slams his stick on the sand sending his mound flying in the wind.
“I will be the J1 Summit winner.”
