FROM THE DESK OF SOLOMON BENTLEY...
Well folks, we’ve known for awhile that Matt Pulver would attempt his V3 defense of the MAX-J Junior Heavyweight Championship on this tour. But after a broken collar bone forced out #1 contender Julian Cutlass, we have not known who it would take his place and challenge Matt Pulver.
Until now.
Handpicked by Cutlass, at a press conference it was revealed that METAL HERO would make his debut in the title fight. Some have called him the “Nuclear Ballistic Ranger” for his violent and explosive strikes. Others have deemed him the “Atomic Assassin” for his tendency to walk into a company and depart with all its championships during the early 2000s. His actual identity remains a mystery and his story remains an even more incredible tale to believe.
A purported leak of classified documents indicates that METAL HERO was created during World War II by a tandem of frustrated officers in the Japanese military in tandem with the Manhattan Project that eventually created the first nuclear weapon. METAL HERO insists that his cybernetic transformation was the true purpose of the Project, a one-man army designed to bring down the Imperial Japanese Army in lieu of an American invasion force to save possibly millions of lives from both countries.
The below digitally remastered photograph seems to show METAL HERO during one of his missions conducting a raid on ground forces outside of Tokyo. Official sources have not confirmed the photograph’s authenticity.
Having not appeared in over 10 years, he recently surfaced in SEKAI SHINING PRO-WRESTLING – the outfit formerly known as Shining Road Pro-Wrestling – to win the GPWS Heavyweight Championship from Masayoshi Arimoto in March and vanished, a move which left the new company scrambling to somehow once again recover its world championship.
This development caught Julian Cutlass’ attention and when he suffered the collar bone injury deemed the cybernetic superstar as the top possible junior contender available. Along with his mentor, Izawa Fujiyama, Julian Cutlass seems to be the only person in contact with the mysterious fighter. Cutlass reached out to him and promised that if he would vacate the GPWS title, he would give him a match with “All-World Junior Heavyweight” Matt Pulver and the Junior Heavyweight belt. Days later, the GPWS title was delivered via courier to the SSPW office and METAL HERO’s participation in MAX-J confirmed.
So, there you have it folks. On 6/3/2018, Matt Pulver will have his hands full as he faces a historic yet controversial figure in not only in pro-wrestling but in world history! This will be a match you won’t want to miss!
