We open on Billy Danielson, sitting in a chair in a room, with all the lights and attention focused on him. He looks like the final boss to a video game, nice suit, glass of something dark, and an arrogant smirk across his face. He has his Seattle Pro tag team titles sitting next to him on side tables, one on each side, as he takes a sip of what is most likely Dr. Pepper, and sort of snickers to himself.
“Do you realize how ironic it is… me, being here in Maximum Japan? Do you realize how ironic it is, that Mandeville Nelson couldn’t be bothered paying my fee to be on his show, but Lion’s Road’s sister company wasted no expense to get me here on their stage? Do you realize how ironic it is, that I am here on the self-professed ‘Royal Road’ as I inch closer and closer to holding the King of the Lions championship?
Because I sure as hell do.”
His smirk seems to grow, as he shakes his head, snickering to himself still at the multiple ironies in his situation.
“This tour isn’t to help assimilate me into Maximum Japan, this tour is here to remind everyone around the world who the Greatest of All Time is. It’s here, so that way people around the world can watch, as every step I take gets closer to taking a title that should’ve been mine 4 months ago, because it doesn’t matter what country we are in. It doesn’t matter if it’s the U.S., Canada, Japan, or Antarctica, because I will always walk out on top of the situation.
I’ve done things in this industry in the span of 3 years that most people haven’t done in 2 decades. Titles, money, fame, I’ve claimed it all in such a short time, it puts most of this industry to shame. That’s why I’m not worried about the myriad of tag team matches that I’m booked for on this tour. Every team that has me on their side is already the winning team. I’ve literally won tag team gold by myself in Seattle Pro, and I still hold those titles to this very day.
There is no one better than I in that ring at any level, or in any form of wrestling, so when you pair me with upstarts like Umetaro and David Gage, or a thirty year veteran like Daichi, there will be no doubt who is coming out on top, because the stats and skill are all right there. If this were a video game, I’d be maxed out at 99, and just by being on my side during my match, everyone gets bumped up ten points.”
He pauses, as he takes another drink of his Dr. Pepper. He savors the taste for a moment, before continuing.
“It becomes even more abundantly clear that my teams will come out on top, when you put me with the elite of this industry. Japan is no stranger to the destruction that is caused by the Dogs of War, and even though it’s nearly been a year, the world has not forgotten about the strength of the Midnight Horsemen, so when you step out in front of the team of Jack Tillman and I, or Jacob Hammerstein and I, you know that the only win you will get is the possibility of a moral win. One of those ‘We tried really hard and that’s what matters’ wins, that get people through the night.
And yes, I realize I will end up facing most of my tag team partners at least once, but nobody here is on the same warpath that I am on. Nobody here is has been constantly jipped out of opportunities for the title they deserve. Everyone here is here out of serendipity or contractual obligation. I am here to claim what is rightfully mine, and at the end of the day, it doesn’t matter how many teams I'm mix-n-match into, or how many different teammates you give David Troy to build up our match, the outcome will be the same as it will be on October 13th.”
The GOAT looks at his two titles, and then smirks at the camera.
“I will stand, with whomever is at my side that given night, completely and unequivocally victorious. I will stand, like the champion and the king that I am, because at the end of this tour, that’s exactly what I will be.”
