Well, folks we are gearing up for the two-night finale of ATTACK OF THE CASTLE! and it is getting intense out there.
As some of you may know, last year the Ministry of the Environment made Mike Musket an honorary forest ranger so that he could legally live on Mt. Fuji. Fusanosuke Sagara, the beat reporter who follows Musket, reported that the campsite that is his home was recently ransacked and vandalized. The culprit? Some say it’s a rogue band of Demon Brigade zealots, but this has not yet been confirmed. Thus far, Demon Brigade has not taken credit for the act on social media but this remains to be seen. Musket is in good spirits and reports that he’s going to stay in Fukuoka and that MAX-J has graciously agreed to pay for his housing.
As MAX-J continues to grow, fans can expect to see a few new faces in the ring:
“The Pale General” Go Gensai will debut on 10/14. A shoot-oriented technician, Gensai developed a reputation for bloodletting in the late 1990s, there is a rumor that he will show up to the GAIJIN NO SPECIAL on 10/13 to “collect the scalp of a particular gaijin”. Who has he targeted? Is it the lovable Mike Musket? Is it the “American Monster” Jacob Hammerstein? Or is he a covert assassin employed by GM Sano sent against one of the Lion’s Road fighters? I’m sure the suspense will heighten as we get closer to 10/13.
After months of negotiation, MAX-J has announced that “World Class Athlete” Kota Shoju will join the MAX-J roster. Shoju holds the unusual distinction of being a Korean native (韓国人) with a permanent residence in Japan, though he continues to split time between both countries and fights out of Seoul. Allegedly, GM Sano has had his eye on the young junior heavyweight for quite awhile as MAX-J seeks to expand its influence throughout Northeast Asia. With plans for a MAX-J overseas tour in the Republic of Korea scheduled for January, Shoju may get a chance to defend his home-turf sooner rather than later!
And of course, we awat the showdown between MAX Heavyweight Champion “Demon Lord” ZENKI and his challenger “Mountain” Shinjiro Nakama. Despite only being announced a little over a week ago, the tension has escalated dramatically between these two. Nakama is coming off two impressive singles victories over Alexander Irvine and Matt Pulver. Can he keep the momentum rolling against ZENKI, who despite holding the title for nearly four months, is just making his first defense? ZENKI has said that the “berserker fury” has been building up inside him, preparing the “kishin spirit” for the kill against the traitorous Nakama.
Guys we are only 7 days away ~ that is one week! We’re sure to have more reports as we get closer.
