Heavy rain and winds pound Nokonoshima Island. Trees sway wildly as the air reverberates from the thunder.
Hammerstein stands in the wind and rain, watching the storm batter the flower fields around the cottage he’s renting during the MAX-J Attack of the Castle tour. He looks at the Crimson Sage as their blooms fall from the stems, their beauty blown away.
But the Dahlias, the Dahlias weather the storm. Their roots run deeper than those of the Crimson Sage, and their stems are strong enough to bend with the fury of the wind without breaking. When the winds subside, the Dahlias return to their upright status.
Sometimes, during this tour, I feel like these Dahlias. I have the torrential rain that is Lion's Road pounding down on me, while the driving winds of Max-J try to push me in the direction it wants me to go.
Hammerstein squats next to the hearty flowers.
But like these Dahlias, no matter how much they pushed against me, I bowed to neither force. I stood tall against them.
The rains subside and the winds die down to a light breeze. Hammerstein stands upright, his head back and eyes closed, enjoying the gentle breeze.
And now I move on.
As the Attack of the Castle tour comes to an end, I have two more battles to fight. I get “The Inevitable” David Gage on Day Six, then I get to team with “The Ghost” Go Gensai against two men I know all too well, Justin Seville and AJ Knight.
Hammerstein’s black hair drips with rainwater and hangs down in front of his eyes which, combined with the sadistic grin on his face, makes for an eerie visage.
David Gage….”The Inevitable” David Gage. The only thing that's inevitable is at the end of the night, you're gonna be nothin but a pile of bloody rubble on the scrapheap of MAX-J history. You love a good fight, almost as much as I do, and you almost equal me in the ability to dish out punishment. What we're gonna find out, David Gage, is if you can take an asswhippin as good as you can give one. Can you get your teeth knocked down your fuckin throat, and look back at the guy who did it, spit out a bicuspid or two, and smile right back in that sonofabitch’s face?
See I love gettin my brains bashed in almost as much as I love bashin people's brains in. It kinda gets me off.
We're gonna see how well you play the pain game, Gage.
Hammerstein runs his fingers through his soaked mane, smoothing it back. A grin crosses his face.
Seville and Knight, I got a question for you two. What do you get when you team a ghost with a monster? You get an all day asswhippin courtesy of “The Pale General: and yours truly.
I got major scores to settle with you, Seville, and trust me, you might be a gambler, but the only cards you're gettin dealt by The Ghost and I are aces and eights.
AJ, as for you and me, the slate’s been cleaned, the books are balanced. But, if you think that for one second I'm gonna let you keep me and Go from the winner's purse, then you didn't learn a fuckin thing over the past fourteen months.
I'm closing this tour out just like I started it….on the winnin side, and reppin Jacob Fuckin Hammerstein.
The winds pick up and another round of torrential rain begins, as Hammerstein walks away from the Dahlias.
