PRO-WRESTLING TOUKON VOL. 2 ~ REVERE THE EMPEROR ~ FIGHT ON!!!!!!!
12/23/2018
YOKOHAMA, JAPAN
Mushigahara and Earth Warrior vs. FDJ and Balloon Yamazaki
The MAX Dojo teammates took a backseat in this one and allowed the former sumo Mushigahara to square off against the fan-favorite Frank Dylan James. Mushighara controlled the tempo early, keeping FDJ in the corner and pummeling him with palm strikes. But like a cornered badger, FDJ would power through with a brawling series of elbows and chops to push him out and even scoop slammed the big man to make things interesting!
This followed white hot action which saw Earth Warrior get crafty and take some liberties to help out Mushigahara be breaking up a few pinfalls, eventually prompting the two Dojo fighters to go at it. Earth Warrior was outmatched and outsized by Yamazaki, eventually hitting a powerbomb and applying a grounded headlock, leveraging his massive size to tap-out Earth Warrior and pick up a victory for himself and FDJ!
After the match, Yamazaki took the microphone and bowed to FDJ, telling him that his friendship had meant so much and that he would continue to grow no matter where their paths took them. FDJ bowed back and told him they would of course stay friends and would always stay in contact through his fleet of carrier pigeons by which they could send messages. The fans applauded this exchange, of which many more would appear.
METAL HERO vs. Shigeru Toyama
The former MAX Jr. Heavyweight Champion who descended upon the company last summer with such vigor demonstrated against Shigeru Toyama. Toyama kept the action quick early on and the two exchanged stiff kicks. It was a roundhouse kick to the head which cracked against Toyama’s skull and the referee called for a stoppage! Medical attendants would get Toyama up to his feet and evaluate him, eventually giving him the OK and he would pass through the concussion protocol.
METAL HERO took the microphone in his hands and told the fans that he had completed his mission of seeking out the greatest competition. He instructed them to heed his words to internalize the strength exhibited by the MAX-J fighters and carry the MAX soul into their daily lives and meditations to keep the planet safe.
Go Gensai and Hiro Minamoto vs. Jun Vegas and KOSUKE
The Pale General and the Flashy Money Man led their respective teams into this one in a match that saw Gensai employ numerous elements of trickery and open-hand slaps designed to lure Vegas into getting over-aggressive. Despite some valiant moves by Vegas ~~ at one point hitting a cradle Tombstone Piledriver for a 2.9 count ~~ but it was Gensai who would get the last laugh. In the ring with KOSUKE on the other side, Minamoto would hit a half-nelson suplex and tag in Gensai who ascended the top rope and leaped down into an achilles tendon hold, using the momentum to generate much pressure and get the tap-out submission!
Gensai stated after the match that while MAX and Lion’s Road seemed to be on the demise, that nobody would remain safe from his attacks in the future.
DEMON BRIGADE vs. LION’S ROAD ~ FINAL SHOWDOWN
GRIM and Tokyo Zombie vs. David Troy and AJ Knight
GRIM and Tokyo Zombie vs. David Troy and AJ Knight
The Demon Brigade teammates who went on their record-breaking run with the World Tag Team Championship took on the newly minted King of Lions and AJ Knight. The Demon Brigade zealots in the crowd were in full force, standing for the entire match as GRIM stalked AJ Knight and kept him grounded with headlocks and rear naked chokes early. AJ’s fire could not be extinguished, however, and he battled back with a roaring elbow and a superkick to get his partner in on the action.
GRIM would tag in Zombie and the #1 contender for the MAX title brought his trademark puroresu karate to bear against Troy’s supreme kickboxing. It seemed like at every moment a kick to the head or flash submission, such as Zombie’s attempted guillotine chokehold, would end the match. As Troy pushed back Zombie, GRIM would make his presence felt by grabbing him from the apron and allowing Zombie to drive an elbow into his chest!
The former tag champs would double-team him for several minutes, with GRIM as the legal man when Troy hit a Diamond Cutter and crawled over to his corner to tag in AJ! AJ started off his onslaught with a superkick to Zombie which knocked the monk off the apron and then trained his attention on GRIM. A German suplex hold would garner only a two-count and then he upped the ante with a leaping enzuigri that downed GRIM and applied a single-leg crab hold! GRIM would struggle, struggle, and struggle… but find his way to get the bottom rope!
AJ would run GRIM into the ropes and go for the Knightfall DDT, but GRIM would spin out of the hammerlock and ~ poison mist! ~ AJ would stumble back as GRIM prepared to sneak behind Knight… but Troy got GRIM in position for a German suplex… and then Zombie snuck up behind Troy, peeling him off GRIM into a Front Russian Leg Sweep ~ the Falling Tokyo Sun! GRIM finished things off by running and pouncing on AJ’s back to lock in the rear naked choke and forcing the second referee stoppage of the night!
GRIM and Tokyo Zombie bowed to one another in the ring and headed to greet the Demon Brigade zealots and bowed to them as well, pausing to take pictures and thanking them. AJ Knight would interrupt this scene, stating that while Zombie had his dance-card punched on 12/31, that he wanted another shot at GRIM to pay him back! The fans applauded as GRIM grinned with evil at the possibility…
MAX Junior Heavyweight Championship:
Lynx (c) vs. Sen Oka
Lynx (c) vs. Sen Oka
After a quick commercial break we comeback to the fans on their feet chanting for the two men in the ring. Lynx in one corner, Sen Oka in the other, staring holes into one another. Both men are showed with chants from their adoring fans. Lynx stands to represent Professional Wrestling for the fans in attendance against the hated villain of the sport Sen Oka. Sen Oka stands showered in the glory the glory sent to him from the MMA fans in the crowd.
As the men step at one another the crowd almost goes silent as the two men measure on another up. Lynx eventually explodes forward, appearing to use the same speed and style as MDM the match before, but it was only a fake out to get Oka’s guard low so he can drop him to the mat with a hard right cross to the jaw.
Both the fans and Oka look at Lynx in amazement, Lynx just look back from behind his mask with utter contempt. Oka gets back to his feet and the men begin an epic exchange of martial arts mastery. The fans become almost undone at the seems as each man drops the other with leg kicks, arm drags, and armbars that would make Kendo Kashin blush.
But Lynx didn’t get in that ring to prove he has martial arts chops.
He stepped in that ring to show why he was the Junior Heavyweight Champion.
And just as Sen Oka got comfortable in the MMA trap, Lynx sprung into action and took the pro-fighter to the mat with a violent hurricanrana.
TIM FLOSS:
Lynx is bringing it tonight Al.
ALBERT MORDECAI:
Lynx wanted to prove tonight that the Junior Division was not something to be taken lightly. Being one of the big men of the division he’s here to show that he isn’t one to be tossed around like Muerte. But who knew he had the martial arts chops.
Lynx is slow to get his feet, but defiantly so, as Oka lays sprawled out a good distance from him on his stomach, his head lifting quickly to burn a hole into Lynx. Lynx motions to dust off his shoulder for a moment and takes a karate stance. Oka’s face almost oozes with contempt as he gets to his feet and takes his own stance, both men darting towards one another.
What in the sam hell is going on with these two boys.
ALBERT MORDECAI:
These men have grown to hate one another in a very short time. Lynx wants to beat respect into Oka, Oka just wants to beat the shit out of Lynx. This match is fantastic!
The two men come into contact with one another like lightning, their thunder, the roar of the crowd. Strong Style has never been more proudly shown then by these two men. For every punch from Lynx, Oka replies in kind with a kick. Lynx rears back to deliver a hail mary haymaker.
But Oka pivots with what appears to be a cross face takedown…
BUT TRAPS LYNX’S HEAD AND DROPS HIM WITH A RIGHT KNEE TO THE HEAD!
TIM FLOSS:
THE KNEE OF GOD!
ALBERT MORDECAI:
GET UP BEST BUDDY!
The ref starts the count…

Oka raises his hand in the air, counting down with his fingers.
8…
9…
LYNX ROARS HIS WAY TO HIS FEET LIKE A GREAT SEA BEAST BREACHING THE WATER!
Oka is in disbelief as he makes way over to Lynx and the two men go at it again, fire erupting from both of their bellies. Oka moves forward with vicious jabs and crosses to the face of Lynx as he moves forward, pushing the big man back into the turnbuckle, and like a demon possessed, pounces onto the second turnbuckle and starts hammering closed fists into the face of Lynx, the ref starts to count.

Oka reaches through the blows and grabs Lynx by the back of the head and pulls his head down as he raises his for a sickening thud to echo though the first two rows of fans as the two headbutt. Lynx falls off to the side as Oka rolls the opposing direction. The two men are clutching their foreheads as the kneel in an almost fetal position opposing one another.
TIM FLOSS:
These men are going to kill one another!
ALBERT MORDECAI:
KILL! KILL! KILL!
Lynx is the first to recover and struggles to get to his feet, blood is running down his chest from underneath his mask. He stumbles back into the ropes and comes forward towards Oka and front flips to land his larger body on top ok Oka laying him out flat. He moves for the cover.
1…
2…
Of course not.
Somehow Oka kicks out and is the first man to his feet with his own crimson mask, and as Lynx gets up to a knee he runs forward for a SHINING WIZARD! He makes the cover.
1…
2…
Get the fuck out of here.
Lynx presses Oka off of him and both men scramble to their feet and run at one another again. Oka drops Lynx with a swift kick to the chest, he goes to drive his heel down into Lynx but he rolls out of the way and gets to his feet as Oka bounces off the ropes, but Lynx drops him with dropkick.
Both men get up and start trading blows in the middle of the ring once again, this time Lynx is quickly out skilled. Blows start raining against his body. He begins to back pedal and Oka sends a hard left kick into Lynx’s leg driving him to a knee. He quickly fires off that right knee again.
BUT LYNX BLOCKS IT AND GRABS HIM BY THE WRISTS AND SENDS HIM FLYING WITH A MONKEY FLIP!
Both men again spring to their feet.
TIM FLOSS:
WHAT THE HELL AM I WATCHING!
As they dash towards one another, the cat like reflexes of Lynx causing him to fire off a stiff kick to the guts of Oka and drop him to the mat with an EVEN FLOW DDT! He comes for the cover.
1…
2…
3!!!!!!
Lynx rolls off Oka and is gasping air while on his back.
ALBERT MORDECAI:
LYNX RETAINS THE TITLE! HE DID IT. HE DID IT!
Medics enter the ring to check on the two fighters.
TIM FLOSS:
Well, Lynx has made his V4 defense a reality, Al!
ALBERT MORDECAI:
And he did it in style!
Lynx can be seen on his knees, cradling the MAX Junior Heavyweight Championship in his arms. He stands up to his feet and raises the MAX-J Jr. Heavyweight Championship high overhead with both of his arms outstretched! The fans cheer and the scene fades out as the audience chants...
LYNX! LYNX! LYNX!
MAX Heavyweight Championship:
ZENKI (c) vs. Mike Musket
ZENKI (c) vs. Mike Musket
The concourse and the concession stands were empty. No fan wanted to miss a single aspect of the upcoming match. All of the MAX Dojo students gathered as ringside attendants. All of the fighters from the evening, instead of being dispersed throughout the crowd, sat in two rows ringside adjacent to the Demon Brigade zealot section where GRIM and Zombie formed something of a barrier between them and the rest of the roster.
The camera pans to Tim Floss and Albert Mordecai at the announcer’s table ringside.
TIM FLOSS:
Well, folks, we’ve come to the final match here at Pro-Wrestling Toukon Volume 2 where we’re celebrating the Emperor’s birthday and also the final MAX-J event. No one knows what the future holds, but let me say something about the past, Al. It’s been an honor to sit alongside you and do this thing.
ALBERT MORDECAI:
The feeling’s mutual, my friend. And I can’t think of a better way to close-out MAX-J’s final show than ZENKI versus Mike Musket, the two guys who put the company on the map with their epic final in the 2017 J1 SUMMIT. So, this rivalry goes back over a year now and they’ve battled a few times since then. But I tell ya, Timmy, it doesn’t get any bigger than right here on this stage.
The camera pans throughout the arena. A young girl holds a plush Zenki doll. A boy wears a coonskin cap and a frontiersman getup. The MAX wrestlers talk amongst themselves as they wait. METAL HERO and Lynx seem to exchange a few words, Gensai and Minamoto sit with FDJ and Balloon Yamazaki, with the World Tag Champs doling out words of wisdom and showing holds to the two Dojo fighters. Mushigahara lets out a laugh that bellows after Eddie Dante translates a joke from Troy. Knight keeps his focus on the ring, occasionally shooting darts over at GRIM on the other side of the row. Jun Vegas wears a coonskin cap to support to his friend Mike Musket…
… and then the lights dim…
AROOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!
TIM FLOSS:
Here we go, Al!
The screech of a hawk echoes and the guitars for "Feliz Navidad" by Jose Feliciano get the crowd up on their feet. "Mighty Fine" Mike Musket steps out from the back with a piece of dried fish one hand and a walking stick in the other. The fans in the Mirai Dome are on their feet as he walks down to the ring and stands on the apron. He drops off his coon-skin cap and walking stick to dojo student Umetaro Sakamoto and enters the ring.
He takes a bite out of the dried fish and throws the rest of the fish into the crowd. Big Ole Country points at the Dojo section at his friend Jun Vegas and nearby his three friends, the reporter Bootsy Mitchell (not his real name), his dog, and a strange vampiric looking man in a tuxedo.
ALBERT MORDECAI:
Timmy, you can just feel this match building up… and we haven’t even seen ZENKI yet.
VAJURA ON!
VAJURA ON!
VAJURA ON!
TIM FLOSS:
That is about to change, Al!
Hironobu Kageyama’s hit bellows throughout the arena and the Demon Lord Zenki comes walking from the back in his full wrestling outfit with shoulder pads and cape, the MAX Heavyweight Championship belt secured around his waist. He throws his arms out pumping up the fans before walking down to the ring as he slaps hands with the fans who throw cherry blossoms into the aisle in his wake.
Before entering the ring he stands before the Demon Brigade zealots who bow down as though they are not worthy. He bows to them as well and then gives a nod to Zombie and GRIM, who return the gesture. Having taken off his shoulder-pads and cape, he makes his way into the ring by walking up the steel stairs and walks to the turnbuckle, hopping onto the second rope and again throwing his arms out to the roar of the fans, the MAX Heavyweight Championship gleaming off his waist.
As the two men stare one another down from separate corners, the English and Japanese language PA announcers take the centerstage.
BURTON FASK – PA Announcer:
Ladies and gentlemen, on the 85th birthday of His Imperial Majesty the Emperor, the final such birthday we shall celebrate of the Heisei period. In honor of this great occasion, MAXIMUM Japan Pro-Wrestling has displayed the highest level of fighting spirit which shall culminate in this MAX Heavyweight Championship bout.
The fans applaud. A stray “NAKAMA!” chant flies through the silence.
BURTON FASK – PA Announcer:
Introducing first, the challenger… standing at 6’1” and 239 lb… he is the first ever MAX Heavyweight Champion, the winner of the 2017 J1 SUMMIT, and the 2018 Tiger’s Festival champion… he is “Mighty Fine”… MIKE MUSKET!
Musket emerges from the corner and waves to the fans who throw brown and red streamers into the ring. He nods, points at Zenki, and gives him a big smile.
BURTON FASK – PA Announcer:
And now introducing, your MAX Heavyweight Champion… standing at 5’10” and weighing 215 lb… he is the leader of the Demon Brigade, a former GPWS Heavyweight Champion, the winner of the 2017 Chronos Cup… he is the “Demon Lord”… ZENKI!
Black streamers from the Demon Brigade zealots fill the ring as Zenki raises a fist which clutches the MAX Heavyweight Championship. He stares steely across the ring at his opponent, pointing back at him with his free hand.
Dojo students clear the ring of streamers as the referee takes the championship to the ringside attendant and brings the two men to the center of the ring.
TIM FLOSS:
Al, I’m shaking with excitement!
ALBERT MORDECAI:
Me too! Somebody ring that damn bell!
The referee separates the fighters…
… and the bell rings!
TIM FLOSS:
Yes!
ALBERT MORDECAI:
Yes! Yes! Yes!
Zenki and Musket encircle one another, steadily closely creeping inward… Zenki is bobbing and weaving, crouching his legs to lower his center of gravity while Musket keeps a wide stance, keeping his hands down lower to avoid the takedown. The two men swirl round and round in this cautious dance before slowing down… stopping… and backing away!
TIM FLOSS:
What’s going on, Al?
ALBERT MORDECAI:
These two men are so evenly matched on offense and defense, neither fighter could spot an opening on the other! It looks like they both just decided to reset!
The fans applaud as the two men stand at a distance. Musket rolls a shoulder while Zenki stretches out his hamstrings before they try again in this dance. This time Zenki shoots in for a single leg takedown… he doesn’t quite get it, grasping a leg but Musket putting his head into a front face lock. Musket hops around, driven by Zenki into the corner. The referee pats them both to break it off… Musket slowly lets go while Zenki even more slowly lifts his head up… Zenki with a chop! ~ Musket catches the arm and cracks the elbow over his shoulder while Zenki goes down to the ground writhing in pain!
TIM FLOSS:
A clever counter by Mike Musket!
ALBERT MORDECAI:
He may be from the country, but he’s no slouch! Few have the kind of in-ring intellect to keep up with the Demon Lord.
Musket drops down to his knees and pushes Zenki onto his back and covers him. But his purpose is not a pinfall but instead to isolate the arm for a kimura!
TIM FLOSS:
Musket is going after the arm!
ALBERT MORDCAI:
This was Mike Musket’s finisher when he first started out back in the late 1970s, Timmy!
Zenki is trying to buck him off, but Musket has got the arm straightened and is trying to lock his grip in around the elbow… Zenki reaches a foot for the ropes… Musket has it locked in! But Zenki gets a foot on the ropes! Musket breaks it off and flips Zenki on his back and goes for a Fujiwara armbar ~ but Zenki manages to avoid it by rolling forward and standing up. Musket is on his knees when Zenki hits a buzzsaw kick! Musket goes down hard and Zenki covers for the pin!
1…
2…
3-NO! Musket gets his senses and kicks out.
TIM FLOSS:
Quite the turn of events by Zenki!
Zenki sends a few soccer kicks aimed at Musket’s head but the mountain man covers up and rolls off the apron, sending the action to the outside. Zenki pursues and picks up Musket and goes for a front chancery. He lifts up for a vertical suplex… and plants Musket down on the outside, arching his back in pain as Zenki stands before the zealots with his arms outstretched!
TIM FLOSS:
Zenki with the showmanship, Al.
ALBERT MORDECAI:
When you got it ~ flaunt it, Timmy!
Zenki doesn’t showboat long as he picks up Musket and runs him face-first into the ringpost! ~ BUT WAIT ~ Musket blocks it with his hands and roars back with an elbow into Zenki’s face as the two men spill into the aisle! The referee’s count can be heard…
7…
8…
9…
Musket lands a chop! Zenki lands an elbow! Musket lands a chop! Zenki with an elbow!
10…
11…
12…
13…
Musket with a chop! Zenki with an elbow!
14…
15…
16….
Musket with a chop! Chop! Chop!
17…
Zenki is stunned and Musket goes…
LARIATOOOOOOOOOH
~ swing a miss!
18…
Zenki goes running into the ring! He slides under the bottom rope!
19…
Musket goes running and…
… just barely makes it in time!
TIM FLOSS:
Oh man, Al, that was close.
ALBERT MORDECAI:
I think Zenki was setting up Musket, Al. He knows he has the advantage in quickness. I don’t think he thought Musket had the footspeed to make up that kind of ground!
But Zenki is stomping Musket as soon as he crosses under the threshold of the bottom rope, and then takes him and chokes Big Ole Country’s throat on the very same rope, letting go just as the referee sounds four counts. Zenki repeats this tactic several times before getting Musket up to his feet and running him against the ropes ~ and smacking his face with a running palm strike! Musket is wobbly as Zenki runs against the ropes and goes for another running palm strike! Musket is still on his feet as Zenki goes for a third ~ Musket ducks it and catches him with a SAMBO suplex! Musket has a pin!
1…
2…
3-NO! Zenki gets the shoulder up!
TIM FLOSS:
Excellent reversal by Musket!
Musket has Zenki in a reverse chin lock and then transitions into a Dragon sleeper! The Mountain Man has got it locked in tight as Zenki struggles to survive, waving his arms and flailing frantically!
“Give up?”
But Zenki seems to shake his head, only prompting Musket to apply the hold even tighter!
“Give up?”
Zenki doesn’t respond but manages to get his feet planted and starts lifting up. Both men are standing, the hold still applied as Zenki arches back. Musket is struggling to keep it on… and Zenki manages to spin around into a front facelock, lock his hands around Musket’s waist and hit a Northern Lights suplex hold! He’s got the pin bridged!
1…
2…
3-NO! Musket manages to kickout!
TIM FLOSS:
Zenki’s fighting spirit cannot be underestimated, Al.
ALBERT MORDECAI:
You said it, my friend. He’s always got an ace up his sleeve.
As Musket sits up, Zenki flies in with a front dropkick that puts him back flat against the mat! Zenki then kips up to the delight of the crowd and settles into a crouch… he waits for Musket to stir and… SHI-NING WIZAAAAAAARD!!!! Musket goes down! Instead of going directly for the pin, Zenki runs against the ropes and goes for a springboard moonsault from the middle rope… it connects! Now he’s got the cover!
1…
2…
3-NO!! Musket’s shoulder finds its way off the mat.
TIM FLOSS:
High-octane offense from the champ!
Zenki smacks the canvas and gets Musket up to his feet. He locks him in the front chancery and goes for a brainbuster… he’s got him up ~ WAIT! Musket’s legs get kicking and Zenki is forced to drop him! Now Musket has got him in the hold and… BRAINBUSTAAAAAH!!! Musket spikes Zenki’s head like a volleyball and sits up. He floats into a pin!
1…
2…
3-NO! What a kickout from Zenki!
ALBERT MORDECAI:
Musket responds in kind! What a sweet brainbuster!
Musket has Zenki back on his feet. Elbow to the head! Chop to the chest! Elbow to the head! Chop to the chest! ~ Zenki goes for a palmstrike ~ Musket catches the hand and delivers machine-gun like chops into the side of his neck! Musket spins him around and ~ BACKDROP DRIVER!!! Zenki hits the deck with a sickening thud as the fans gasp! Mighty Fine flips him over and hooks the leg!
1…
2…
3!!!!!
FOOT ON THE ROPES!!
TIM FLOSS:
That was close, Al!
ALBERT MOREDCAI:
Musket had him there! But Zenki was in the right place at the right time!
Musket snatches up Zenki by the back of his suit just above the waist and puts on a rear-waistlock… Zenki struggles, tries to break it… but Musket throws him over his head for a RELEASE German suplex! ~ BUT ZENKI STANDS UP IMMEDIATELY… and he charge forward… ZANBATOOOOOOOOOH!!!! The diving tackle puts Musket down in the center of the ring as the fans applaud and smack the backs of their seats.
Zenki gets up to a knee and looks toward the top rope… the fans start to ooh and ahh as he ascends with his back to the ring. He stands on the top turnbuckle, looking over his shoulder at the still downed Musket… he leaps for the MOONSAULT press…
… he arches high into the sky…
… IT CONNECTS! He’s got the cover!
1…
2…
3!!!!!!
NO!!! Musket just baaaaaarely gets the shoulder up!
TIM FLOSS:
How did he do it?! How did he do it?!
ALBERT MORDECAI:
Zenki is cashing in on high risk maneuvers tonight!
Zenki sees that Musket is down and catch him unaware with a cross armbreaker, but Musket gets his fingers enmeshed and blocks it. Eventually Zenki must let go or risk getting gassed out. Musket and Zenki are both on their feet. Zenki goes for a kick to the gut, Musket catches the foot, spins it around and… BURNING LARIATOOOOOOOOH!!!!!! Zenki hits the mat with his head at a diagonal angle! Musket goes for the pin!
1…
2…
3-NO!!! Zenki gets up a shoulder!
But Musket quickly recovers and then picks up Zenki’s legs, he steps through and creates the grapevine… turning it over… the WOLF TRAP SHARPSHOOTER!! Musket howls like a maniac as he’s got the hold in place!
TIM FLOSS:
He’s got it locked on! By gawd! By gawd! By gawd!
Zenki is in rough straits as he is far, far from the ropes and he’s struggling for dear life! He groans with pain as he reaches out and nothing’s there!
He struggles…
… struggles…
“Give up?”
…
“Give up?”
Zenki bellows with pain as he pushes himself up off the mat with his hands!
ALBERT MORDECAI:
What strength! What strength!
But Zenki falls back down to the mat, unable to dislodge Musket! Musket howls some more until his throat is hoarse as he wrenches the hold even tighter!
TIM FLOSS:
By gawd! By gawd! By gawd! I don’t think Zenki can escape!
Zenki is holding his head in his hands, keeping his face hidden from the referee so he won’t accidentally give in to the ref’s questions about the submission…
… he struggles…
… struggles…
… he reaches out a hand…
… and pushes himself up once again! And this time he manages to push his legs out of Musket’s grasp! The Mountain Man tumbles to his knees as the hold is broken!
TIM FLOSS:
Zenki made it! He made it! Godlike strength! Godlike strength!
ALBERT MORDECAI:
He’s the champ for a reason!
Both men struggle up to their feet, using the ropes for support as they stumble over to one another… Zenki kicks Musket in the leg, causing his knee to buckle… Zenki runs against the ropes and… ZANBATOOOOOOOH!!!!! Musket is down but Zenki is too tired to crawl over and go for the pin!
Musket and he both stumble up to their feet… Zenki goes for… ZANBATOOOOOH ~ WAIT! MUSKET COUNTERS WITH A LARIATOOOOOOOOOOH!!!!!!!!!!
TIM FLOSS:

ALBERT MORDECAI:
SPIRIT JUICES, BABY!
Musket covers for the pin!!!!!

TIM FLOSS:

ALBERT MORDECAI:
Clever bastard! He always knows where he is in that ring!
Musket stares over at the referee in disbelief but sets up Zenki one more time, standing him up to this feet and… BURNING LARIATOOOOOOOOH!!!!!!!!!! He covers for the pin!
1…
2…
3!!!!!!!!!
NO! ZENKI. KICKS. OUT!
TIM FLOSS:
No… I… can’t believe…
ALBERT MORDECAI:
Seeing is believing!
The fans are apoplectic. The MAX roster has been standing on their feet for the last five minutes at each and every move, watching diligently. The Demon Brigade zealots and their all-black shirts are drenched with sweat.
Musket gets up Zenki to his feet… he gets him in place for a BACKDROP DRIVER… Zenki elbows him in the head, kicks him in the gut… applies the gutwrench… hoists up Musket for the powerbomb… he runs forward and…

Ladies and gentlemen, your winner of the match… and STILL MAX HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPION… ZENKI!!!!!!!!!!!
The fans are standing and cheering, most of all the Demon Brigade fans, many of whom are in tears at the sight they witness.
ALBERT MORDECAI:
Tremendous heart here tonight, Timmy. This is one of the all-timers, I tell ya what. We saw it all!
A medic has sat up Musket and shines a light in his eyes. Meanwhile, Zenki has been helped up by GRIM and Zombie, the MAX Heavyweight Championship already fastened around his waist by one of the ringside personnel.
TIM FLOSS:
With this defense, Zenki sets the official record for title defenses in MAX-J. I think that – oh wait just a minute, look in the ring…
Musket is on his feet, having pushed the medics away. Jun Vegas and FDJ are standing alongside him, attempting to hold him back but he shoves them away as he pushes toward ZENKI. The champ instructs Zombie and GRIM to let him go… the two men stare down one another…
And Musket gives Zenki a mighty hug! And Zenki accepts! The two warriors stand in the ring as the fans cheer and cherry blossoms rain down from the rafters!
TIM FLOSS:
Look at this sight! Incredible! These two have spent the better part of a year and half engaged in an epic struggle and it has ended here tonight just the way you’d want to see it end!
ALBERT MORDECAI:
If this doesn’t warm your heart, you’re a damn serial killer!
The two men exchanged some words, the meaning of which is not lost in translation. They are joined by the other members of the roster who surround them and engage in conversation. GM Masaaki Sano has entered the ring and the wrestlers pay their respects.
Dojo attendants unravel a MAXIMUM JAPAN PRO-WRESTLING banner that stretches across the ring. All the wrestlers, dojo students, Sano and his team stand in front of it with a smile with Demon Lord Zenki at the center of the mass.
BURTON FASK – PA ANNOUNCER:
Ladies and gentlemen, the MJPW roster invites each one of you to take the rare opportunity to enter the ring and join us in honoring the roster and team members of MAX-J. Please make your way to the aisle in an orderly fashion…
The fans spill into the aisle as a photographer crew sets up.
TIM FLOSS:
This is just beautiful, it’s –
ALBERT MORDECAI:
- Timmy, look!
From the ring, Mike Musket is calling out to Tim Floss and motioning for the announcers to join them.
TIM FLOSS:
Well, Al. I think you know where we’ve got to go.
ALBERT MORDECAI:
Last one there buys lunch tomorrow!
TIM FLOSS:
Folks, it’s been the greatest of honors presenting MAX-J to you all since August 2017 when we first got off the ground. Keep fighting, and we’ll see you at BLACK Lion’s Road BOM-BA-YE III in about a week!
The two announcers extraordinaire join the roster in front of the camera. For now, the only sound is the sound of rhythmic applause and the fans chanting MAX-J! MAX-J! MAX-J! as they line up to share a few words of thanks and respect to the roster. The scene fades out on the image of the MJPW team giving a thumbs up to the fans and the audience members at home and around the world as the cherry blossoms fall like pink snowflakes from the sky…
