Tour Stops announced + Contender for the Jr. Heavyweight Championship!
Well, we learned a few things today as we near the start of the upcoming TOUKON ROAD super-tour. We know that BLITZ PACIFICA will take us through East and Southeast Asia. The first stop of the tour will be in Seoul, Republic of Korea, then to Hong Kong, and then carry on into Manila, Philippines, and capping off the show in India with a show at an 9,000 seat outdoor venue being constructed in the vicinity of the Vishwa Shanti Stupa (“World Peace Pagoda”) in New Delhi, a temple built by the Nipponzan-Myōhōji Buddhist order founded by Nichidatsu Fujii. This venue will feature the tour’s headlining event known as MAHATMA SUPER WORLD PEACE SAISHI.
We now have the Jr. Heavyweight Championship set in stone. On 2/21, we will see Lynx – also known as Eron Hunter – attempt his V5 defense of the Jr. Heavyweight Championship against Chris Ravenna in his hometown of Manila.
Originally, this match was scheduled for Hong Kong. However, it seems that slumping ticket sales in the Philippines – even after the announcement of the World Tag Team Championship match last week – caused the company to reconsider. Of course, this decision threatens the viability of the Hong Kong show, though the company is hopeful that the MAX Royal Road Championship Tournament quarterfinals will make it a profitable venture.
TOUKON ROAD: BLITZ PACIFICA – Day 3
Date: 2/21/2019
Location: Manila, Philippines
1. **MAX Royal Road Championship Tournament - Semifinals**
2. World Tag Team Championship: Frank Dylan James and Go Gensai (c) vs. Jacob Hammerstein and Thunder Mask
3. MAX Jr. Heavyweight Championship: Lynx (c) vs. Chris Ravenna
Anger of the God-Beast: Mushighara training hard!
With the PUNCH + KICK Festival a mere week away, we know that fighters are getting ready for the event that will mark the return of MAX-J’s brief hiatus. One of the fighters, Mushigahara, was reportedly spot training on a punching machine with some unique motivation: a picture of Go Gensai was taped onto the pad.
Why would punching Gensai over and over again be on Mushigahara’s mind? Well, Gensai recently attacked Mushigara after his victory of Frank Dylan James during House of Strong Style’s Lars Hagen Invitational on 1/6. It seems that the God-Beast is out for revenge! What will happen on 1/26 when we get the fighters together?!
A rumor about the MAX Heavyweight Championship…
Reporters have noticed that all the titles have been announced for BLITZ PACIFICA with the exception of the MAX Heavyweight title. We know that ZENKI will attempt his V5 defense on 2/23, but the opponent has not yet been named. There is a rumor going around that the company has not yet made a decision and at the PUNCH + KICK Festival will be scouting who they feel is the “strongest” fighter.
