FROM THE DESK OF
SOLOMON BENTLEY...
Bon Voyage!
Well, folks, we're officially one week away and the festivities are already getting started.
Leaving today from Fukuoka, the Toukon Sakura Maru began its maiden voyage. The mega-cruiseliner will follow the the TOUKON ROAD fighters around the globe as we get started on this journey. The ship has gotten underway early and will cruise around the Sea of Japan for the next few days before making port in Seoul, Republic of Korea to get ready for the first show. Although it won't make all the stops on the trip, it will hit the major destinations, letting off and picking up passengers along the way.
This state-of-the-art vessel features all the amenities. Dozens of dining options, fitness centers, spas, hot tubs, and possibly anything else you can imagine. The legendary septuagenarian lounge singer "El Cantante Brillante" Bartolomé Acosta Martín crooning tunes from his recently released twenty-seventh studio album Entonces... with nightly performances for the duration of the trip.
It is reported, as well, that a wrestling ring has been installed and it's possible that the cruise will feature a few special events as we continue on our way. Over 3,000 guests purchased tickets and it's rumored that some of the wrestlers on the show will enjoy extended stays aboard. Is it possible that we could see a MAX championship defended at sea? Who knows!
A NEW TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP?!
A strange new rumor... but I've got an explanation...
Not exactly sure what to do with this one, folks. I got an email from a MAX-J fan who told me that he was in a coffee shop in Ariake, Tokyo and overheard some higher-ups in MAX discussing a new tag team championship.
Well, this was news to me. To my knowledge the only title that has been sanctioned by MAX's championship committee is the recently founded Royal Road Championship for which we'll have a winner. I have looked into this matter and I have been told that MAX has not and will not be founding a new title any time soon after.
There may be a sensible source for this rumor. As you may, Go Gensai and Frank Dylan James of the Ghost Army are the reigning World Tag Team Champions. On 2/23, the two men will challenge the upstart National Wrestling Federation's reigning Heritage Tag Team Champions Jacob Hammerstein and Eli Buchanan for the tag title belts at that promotion's Saturday Showcase. We wish the two men luck on their journey.
As for now, I'll chalk this rumor up to a simple misunderstanding. But I'll have my radar up for any news updates.
