FROM THE DESK OF... SOLOMON BENTLEY
Well folks, Genki Sano certainly created a stir when he announced his resignation. Media outlets left and right having been ringing my phone off the hook, hoping that I have the inside scoop on who "saved" MAXIMUM Japan Pro-Wrestling from financial ruin... yet again. I do have that scoop... but I can't let the cat out of the bag just yet. Sorry, guys.
What I can talk about is some upcoming events!
There will be a card at the PBJ Hall in Tokyo on 4/27 headlined by Hammerstein making his V1 defense of the MAX Heavyweight title against one half of the new World Tag Team Champions, GRIM. This will their second singles match in less than a month, plus the numerous tags they've had opposite each other. GRIM defeated Hammerstein by countout on 3/30, handcuffing him to the guardrail so that he was unable to return to the ring. Much of the match was spent on the floor, allowing the Zealots, the Demon Brigade's fans, to pelt the American Monster throughout the match with plush Zenki dolls. This time around, however, the Competition Committee has decreed these men must stay inside the ring. A Lumberjack Death Match has been decided as the appropriate stipulation for these two men! Both contracted and freelance fighters as well as Dojo students will surround the ring to ensure neither man leaves the squared circle until a fall has been registered!
