Of all the places the Max-J camera had hoped and prayed he would never have to return to, it was back into the lair of the dark wizard, GRIM. Despite his obvious terror, the cameraman followed the sound of beating drums down the darkened halls of the desecrated temple and towards a glowing light down the corridor. The cameraman walked towards the light and stepped out into the temple’s sanctuary. The camera panned around, showing dozens of the dark wizard’s followers beating away their drums, while several women, including the priestess Sentai, danced around GRIM’s thrown in the center of the room, where the dark wizard sat, holding onto Tiger Mask Undead’s chain and consulting with Esior the Necromancer and the demon, Goryō.
TMU yelled out something incoherently and pointed at the intruder. Everything in the sanctuary came to a halt and all eyes turned to the cameraman. TMU leapt at him but was pulled back by the strong hands of GRIM, who spoke into his ear, calming the undead creature. GRIM beckoned the cameraman to come closer and began to speak.
“I know why you have come and I commend your bravery for entering into dragon’s den on your own free will. Rest assured you will be allowed to survive this meeting so you may go forth and share my words with all the Max-J viewers, and more importantly with the foreign pig, Jacob Hammerstein!
“Hammerstein, I commend you on your recent victories, claiming both the Max-J Heavyweight Title and the Lions Road World Title. You are truly a mighty warrior and a dangerous adversary. But Hammer-me, despite you recent wins I must question the heart that beats within your chest and I wonder about the convictions you claim to have but throw aside so easily whenever it is suitable to your needs. I have seen you walk among the children of Japan, playing games and making them laugh, only to return to your own land and antagonize the people in attendance until they are cursing your name and throwing trash at you. Hammer-me, a man cannot have two masters, nor can he serve both the light and the darkness. Either he must kneel to one and despise the other, or hate the one and bow to the other. You are like a house made of playing cards, that when finished looks mighty but is easily destroyed with the mere swipe of one’s hand."
GRIM pounds his chest and laughs.
“I on the underhand serve only the darkness and aim only to engulf this world in eternal night. Unlike you, with your false convictions and wavering loyalties, my blackened soul is a strong as the temple walls around us. And that is why I will overcome you when we meet for the one true talisman of Max-J, the Heavyweight Championship. With that title added to those that I have already claimed, I will bring this company into an age of darkness it shall never recover from and cleanse my homeland in eternal darkness.
“Now you may believe you already have me defeated because the matchmakers have placed us with the confines of a Lumberjack Death Match. You believe I am a coward that will try and escape and that the men blood thirsty devils around the ring will be eager to break my body before tossing me back in so you can pick the bones. What you fail to realize, Hammer-me, is that I will not be caught in the ring with you, but rather you will be caught in there with me and while you may have your supporters surrounding the ring, I will my own supporters there to assist me and, Hammer-me, they are more bloodthirsty and more vile than anyone who would willingly call you friend!”
Several of GRIM’s followers, Falcon Hamada included, stood up and surrounded the dark wizard and faced the camera. Tiger Mask Undead roared something incoherently and Goryō chuckled loudly. GRIM smiled wickedly and raised his arms in the air.
“Look around,” he bellowed, “you might be a might warrior but I have an army that will do whatever it takes to see me victorious and will lay their lives down for me to see you fail! There is only one true certainty in life and that is death. Beware, for it comes for you soon!”
GRIM and his followers start laughing evilly and it’s too much for the cameraman who spins around and runs while GRIM’s laughter follows him out the door.
