Sitting behind the shadow inside the storage truck, Chris Ravenna stared blankly in its wall. He looked at the sweat of his head discerning his condition especially in the preparation of the BRAVE NEW WORLD tour. As he pondered over it, he asked himself, “How did I get here so far?”
After the unsuccessful EUROPA RUSH tour, Ravenna began to pick up the pace with victories against AJ Knight and Go Gensai. It brought him to the title picture against Shinjiro Nakama for the Royal Road Championship. Ravenna began to address his thought regarding his match in the form of a promo.
Ravenna looked down with a grimace on his face.
“My match with Nakama was proved to be a hard-hitting match. My goal was to prove everyone that I still have what it takes to beat anyone else, and Nakama was the perfect opponent for me. I can see that he hasn’t lost in a singles match. It was a difficult challenge that weighed down on me especially the trash talk that Assfart Cummingham spewed on me. That fucking punyeta!”
Ravenna had a disgust on Nakama’s manager, Arnold Cunningham. He even showed by spitting aimlessly on the right. Ravenna continued to tell the account.
“I thought I had it when I hit Nakama with Artikulo Uno, but I’m not. It was a very close call. We had a back on forth match until it passed the twenty-five mark. As I about to hit him with another one, I thought got him again. But in the end, Nakama gained the advantage and retained his championship. All of this, my hard work crumbles.”
Ravenna let out a sigh showing the frustration he has with the Ravenna vs. Nakama match. And it grew bigger and bigger.
“What’s even worse about my loss against Nakama is that I got caught with a sudden illness.”
Ravenna got sent to the hospital not only once but twice. First, it was due to the flu that drained half of his strength. Then on April 19, 2019, it was discovered that he had a concussion. So he went for a brain surgery which was a success. However, the road of recovery didn’t go well on the Filipino boy. He felt how the concussion affected his performance in the professional wrestling scene.
“After my recovery, everyone looked at me and said that I’m history. I've become an afterthought that I couldn't climb up to the ranks anymore. They thought of me as a broken man.”
Anger took over Ravenna’s mind as he closed his eyes, gnashed his teeth and clenched his right hand. Trying to repress his emotion proved difficult for Ravenna. So he hammered his fist to the left arm of the chair and screamed, “PUTANG INA!”
Ravenna held his forehead trying to get his emotion in control. He kept his eyes close for he believed that it helped his angry calmed down.
“Wrestlers are trained to win. Winning a match shows how good you are. I know THAT Nakama respected me despite my loss, but Mr. Cummingham SPITS AT ME LIKE DIRT!”
At that moment, Ravenna lost his struggle to his anger as it took over him.
“Everyone in the MAX-Japan locker room reckoned I got nothing to prove! But little did they know that every loss fuels me bit by bit. My rage builds up, and I’m not afraid to unleash it to everyone. And I MEAN EVERYONE, from that “perro”, Naoki Ojima to James “PUTANG INA” Edwards.”
Ravenna then lowered the intensity of his vexation to stern but subtle-sadistic.
“Not just that, I will show no remorse to any opponents for I have a cold heart. I didn’t arrive at MAX-Japan to shake hands and do chit-chat to any other wrestler. I came here to show why Filipinos are capable fighters. Why my countrymen fight harder than anyone else.”
“The War Lion of Laguna is hungry for redemption, and everyone crosses him shall be his prey. He won’t stop until he gets the power and rage needed. I will show everyone that I’m worthy of that Jr. Heavyweight title shot. I won't make the same mistake as my performance in EUROPA RUSH. I will break their bones and shatter their face. The War Lion of Laguna roars across Japan for Edward's title."

“Lahat sa sila. TATAPUSIN KO SILA!” (All of them. I WILL DEFEAT THEM!)
