Naoki Ojima stamped his ticket to a Royal Road championship match opposite Shinjiro Nakama by defeating Katushiko Himura in nine minutes, eleven seconds - submitting him with his patented Tiger suplex into a bridging double chickenwing! Shigeru Toyama would also tap out his opponent, Earth Warrior with an omaplata, which tied up the top spot at four points. However by virtue of his win over Toyama on Day 1, Ojima wins the Tomorrow League on the tiebreaker! The "Emerald Tiger" was overjoyed when he received the news, but "Starboy" Toyama ruined the party by attacking Ojima from behind and applied an armbar, which he held on until security came to break them up. Ojima was whisked away to have his arm checked.
GRIM vs. James Edwards kicked off the first of two Openweight Challenges. The King of the Dead and the Burning Heart brutalized each other with strikes for twenty plus minutes, but there was plenty of nearfalls and close calls on count outs. At one point, Edwards dropped GRIM with a couple spinning backfists and then rushed over to the corner to set up for the Violent Gospel, but GRIM sat up before he even got into position! A clearly annoyed Edwards charged forward, looking for the penalty kick anyway but GRIM reversed it into the GRIM Clutch! Miraculously, Edwards got to the ropes... but GRIM held on until four! As Edwards struggled to his feet, GRIM chop blocked him! The work continued on the Burning Heart's leg, but to his credit - Edwards refused to quit, he smashed his forearm into GRIM's face and managed to hit him with the Concrete Chameleon! GRIM went down, but the work on Edwards leg made him unable to follow up right away. Edwards made it back up, grabbed GRIM and tried for the Foxfire... but GRIM punched him in the liver and delivered a Tombstone piledriver for the win! Backstage, GRIM gave credit - saying Edwards was stronger than most of the American scum he's faced... but like most Americans, he didn't have the work ethic to complete the task!
The second of the Openweight Challenges saw Falcon Hamada give Hammerstein fits for the first ten minutes, utilizing his MMA background. Hamada wove in and out with kicks and used his knees whenever Hammer did get his hands on him, severely limiting the damage that the World's Champion could inflict on the World Tag Team Champion. However, Hammerstein absorbed some of Hamada's best strikes and remained standing and after ten minutes of it, Hamada's gas tank began to deplete and Hammer started suplexing him every which way! A Hammersteiner looked to be in Hamada's future, but he managed to knee Hammer in the head and break free... but the World's Champion slapped on a rear naked choke and earned a tapout victory instead! Backstage, Hammerstein said he was tired of wasting time. He didn't want Hamada, or GRIM or any of the Zombies - he wanted Tiger Mask Undead!
