Narrator: Alright boys! You know how the tune goes. Ba Ba Baaaaaa, Ba Ba Baaaaaa, Ba Da Da Ba Da Da Ba Baaaaaaaa.
A mixture of brass instruments play in the background as we see Naoki Ojima working out in the weight room of the Maximum Japan Dojo. It’s a nice day out so the windows are open and the faint sounds of birds chirping and cars driving by can barely be heard as the entire band starts to kick out the jam. Drums are tapping, base is bumping, and the brass section is rocking.
Narrator: Alright boy! Bring it down a bit so I can get my shit in. Now our hero here, Naoki Ojima, has been tearing it up on the wrestling scene here for the past couple of months! He put on a Five Star Match over in Progress Wrestling, he won the Tomorrow League Tournament a few days ago, he’s part of the Omega Academies Second Anniversary Of The Tournament Of Icons, and the cherry on top! He goes one on one with the Mountain Shinjiro Nakama for the Royal Road Title. But is this cool cat worried? Well....ask him yourself. Hey Naoki! You worried brotha?
..........
Narrator: Naoki! Hey! Didn’t you hear me, Kid? The fans! They want to know if you’re worried?!?!
...........
Narrator: Ha! Excuse me folks. Hey Jimmy! Let me borrow your cymbals for a second.
[CLANG!!!!!]
Naoki, who had been doing curls, jumps in the air and drops the weights to the ground. He quickly turns around and takes his headphones off as he wonders what the hell just happen.
Naoki Ojima: (Translated to English) Waaa! Someone could of gotten hurt!
Narrator: Promo time, Kid. Get your gums a flapping!
Naoki gives the camera a mean glare as he takes a nearby towel and wipes the sweat off his face.
Naoki Ojima: All you had to do was ask. Well, I guess you can say that I earned my way into this title fight with Shinjiro Nakama for the Royal Road Title since I won the Tomorrow League Tournament....but it didn’t really feel like I won it. I lost one match, it came down to a tie, and I only won because I beat Toyama in the first round. I was hoping to go undefeated. That was my goal. That felt more deserving to face Nakama for the Royal Road Title, you know? But I’ve learned, since my time being in the industry, that you need to take every advantage to help move your career forward. So I’m taking this moment and I’ll use it to my full advantage. Win, lose, or draw I hope that my performance in the ring will continue to show the fans and management that I’m worthy of being on the roster and that every time I’m in that ring I’m improving.
Now I’m sure Shinjiro Nakama will see me as a push over. I don’t blame him. I’ve only been a professional wrestler for only a few months now. I don’t deserve to be in the same ring with him or facing him for the Royal Road Title. I just hope that Nakama and the rest of the Maximum Japan universe sees that I’m putting in the time and effort. I’m traveling the world and working on my strengths and weaknesses. I’m performing and training in America. I’m performing and training here in Japan. I’m keeping my mouth shut and listening to the veterans. And believe me, I’ll be listening to what Nakama will have to say about me when he puts out his promo. I hope he can give me some pointers on how I can improve instead of burying me.
Naoki chuckles as he combs his hand through his hair.
Naoki Ojima: Do I deserve to win the Royal Roads Title? That’s not up to me. If I win I can promise you right now that I will hold it with the upmost respect and honor for the past champions and Maximum Japan. Anyone who wants to challenge me for it are more than welcome to. But I guess I can’t think to far ahead about defending it since I haven’t won it. My mind is focused on the match and the tough obstacle thats in my way. Shinjiro Nakama! May the best wrestler win.
Naoki bows his head towards the camera as he goes back to training.
