The promo greeted with static effect then shifted to a typical Ravenna promo setting where Chris sat on his chair with his stern face. He portrayed himself like a cold-hearted military tactician.
“James, how’s your day in BRAVE NEW WORLD tour? I see that you were busy fending against the Demon Brigade. Tell me how it did go.”
Ravenna asked a rhetorical question with a pinch of sarcasm. Anyway, he went for a recap of Edwards’ performance during the BRAVE NEW WORLD tour.
“Day one, you ended up in a no-contest against them. Day two, you won a six-man tag match with the help of Sheik Spectre’s Death Valley Driver. But up to that point, your celebration ended there. You lost singles match against GRIM then again in another six-man tag match against the Demon Brigade.”
Ravenna found Edward’s performance silly for he thought that Edwards being a second placer of the TOUKON CUP would help him beat against “The King of the Dead”.
“I guess you forgot how to channel it just as how you forget about me in the promo.”
Edward’s ignorance didn’t fare well on Ravenna.
“Looking at you, you seemed that you’re going to underestimate me (again) because you beat me once for that Jr. Heavyweight Championship. I remembered crystal clear that same mantra I displayed two months ago. Since that I’ve lost that title, my momentum was lost. I’ve lost matches day by day until the last day on the EUROPA RUSH tour. Because of that, everyone in the MAX-Japan locker room thought that my win against Eron Hunter was a fluke.”
When Ravenna said that, he felt the contempt from the audience and other personnel in the MAX-Japan locker room dragged him down to nothing.
“I accepted my defeat at that time you snatched my title from me. It was because I knew you needed it to prove that you’re not a chump. Now everyone looked down on me as if that I’m an afterthought. I’m now in the same position as you were back when I became the new Jr. Heavyweight Champion. And the worst of it all is that everyone viewed of me as the worst Jr. Heavyweight Champion of all time having the shortest reign. You, on the other hand, you held multiple belts across many promotions you’ve joined. At this point, I’m not the favorite pick as a winner in our match. But it’s going to change. And I can tell you why it will happen more likely.”
Looking at Ravenna’s eyes, it stirred with determination and indignation.
“You managed to survive Nakama in an eighteen-minute mark while I lasted against him for twenty-five minutes. See the difference? We may both have tenacity during our match, but mine comes naturally. It was my Filipino blood inherited by my forefathers who fought valiantly for my country, flowed into my veins.”
“While you were busy with Demon Brigade, I’ve invested much time in training to achieve striking and submission excellence, so that I could beat you and retrieved back the title that once belongs to me. So that I can remove that title from your belt collection.”
“You are drunk enough to think that you are the top of the world before us. It was because you are holding multiple belts while proclaiming that you are the ace of the respective division. At Osaka, I will make you realize your real place here in the MAX-Japan. You’re the same level as rest of us but holding a championship belt. You see, Edwards. When I held that belt, unlike you, I didn’t think myself as an ace of the Junior Heavyweight Division. When I rose that belt to my hometown, it represented pride for my countrymen, because I’m their people’s champion.”
Ravenna stood up from his chair and acted firmly like a military leader.
“At the SEMPTER INVICTUS event, I told everyone that I will find that fire to reclaim that title against you. Before my match against Nakama, I revealed to everyone that it was a cold heart that led as the Jr. Heavyweight Champion. I will prove to you that a cold-hearted competitor like me can prevail over a fiery-hearted fighter like you.”
“The only thing that would remove this hatred from me is to become the two-time Jr. Heavyweight Champion. I will reclaim that title and represent lowly Southeast Asia as their champion.”
Ravenna pointed his finger at the camera.
“Tandaan mo yan, Edwards!” (Remember that, Edwards!)
The promo ends.
