Chris Ravenna had his first steps here in the famous MAX-Japan Dojo. What would happen if I failed to take Edward’s title? Perhaps I would pursue the Royal Road Championship. I mean, I loved shoot wrestling. Or should I gain muscle mass and become a heavyweight instead? One thing for sure, it’s great to see some students here learning at MAX-Japan Dojo, he thought.

“Hey, Ojima!” Shigeru Toyama growled in Japanese as his greeting to his promo. Pretty rude, but can you blame him? Anyways, he found himself on the MAX-Japan dojo where he trained himself for the TOUKON TAG TOURNAMENT.
“You think you can get away with me, Lion boy?” Toyama asked while the promo provided with English subtitles. No one could tell the expression of his face due to his mask. However, you can get the hint that he was furious through the tone of his voice. “I already told you that our match in the Tomorrow League was a fluke. You had a lucky shot when you hit me with a double wrist hold knee strike. You faced me in the wrong time, in the wrong place.”
Toyama explained, “I picked up some wins against Katsuhiko Himura who couldn’t bear my crossface chickenwing then Earth Warrior who couldn’t stand with my omaplata. You, on the other hand? You lost to Earth Warrior that I beat with just an inside cradle.” Toyama laughed then hissed, “Pathetic!”
Toyama toned down and went on saying. “And ironic!”
“It was ironic because you pulled that stunt against David Troy in MOLECULE show. So I guess you forgot on how you reversed that move, don’t you? Perhaps the Head Trainer should think twice before presenting that diploma. Maybe you should go back to MAX-Japan dojo before you step into the ring against an alumnus like me.”
Toyama began to feel like fate betrayed him. “I should’ve won that Tomorrow League and faced Shinjiro Nakama to show you how a REAL PROFESSIONAL CAN DO!” (Geez, Toyama. Ego that much?) “Because unlike you, I’m more experienced here in this company than you are. And on May 29th, my partner and I will beat you and that kid at the TOUKON TAG TOURNAMENT. But first, we should eliminate the Sons of Gold in the competition. And I have the confidence that my partner will lead us to victory and face Demon Brigade for the tag titles. You know why? It is because he’s the Junior Heavyweight Champion. Tell him, Ravenna!”
Toyama chopped Ravenna’s chest as if he was like in TOUKON TAG TOURNAMENT. (Preview, I guess?) The Jr. Heavyweight Champion stepped forward clinging his retrieved belt. You can notice that he was not himself at first. But then he attempted to mask himself with his "cold" personality.
“Ojima, a graduate from MAX-Japan dojo and RTK, a known student of the legendary Eli Buchanan. As much as I respect you outside of the ring, I will show no remorse towards both of you. We all are a student here in professional wrestling. But you two need to learn that this is a dog eat dog world. The competition pressures you and gives no choice but to win that match. Otherwise, anyone could take advantage of your loss and steal something precious from you. And I wouldn’t let that happen to me. Nothing personal, but it's survival."
Ravenna’s eyes displayed his sheer determination to win that tournament. He even held his championship fearing that he would lose his title again. It gave a hint that Chris had a fear of failing.
“I could see other names thrown into the list like Billy Danielson, Hammerstein or the Sons of Gold. I could hardly see Nakama win the tournament since his partner would cost him a match. But the point remains that I need to win this. I would not let history repeat itself like I lost a match against Gensai and Hiromoto in an Argonaut Tag League. That’s why I stepped into this place and trained hard to prove why I became a two-time Jr. Heavyweight Champion and not some fucking joke.”
Ravenna raised the belt identifying himself his place as a champion to everyone then placed back on.
“Toyama and I are hungry to win this tournament. Toyama wanted to prove to his rival, Naoki Ojima that he is better while I pursue another tourney win. Let me assure you, guys. The Tiradores will be the #1 Contenders for the Tag Team Championship.”
The promo ended.
