The J-1 Summit Eve event had gone exactly as Hammerstein had expected it to. All the wrestlers scheduled to compete on the tour made their promises and made their claims of greatness. But it all sounded empty and hollow. When Hammerstein's turn to speak came up, he made his word short and sweet, then got up and walked away to the meet and greet. Along with his manager, Reese Kennedy, the American monster signed autograph after autograph and took photos with every fan that asked for one. Hammerstein respected the Japanese fans, because while they were emotional, they also respected ability, unlike the Sheep that call themselves American wrestling fans. Once Hammerstein finished up his portion of the meet and greet, he got up from the autograph table to leave, and nearly ran into Sue Tsuboi and her camera crew. “Sue2” stood between Hammerstein, Kennedy, and the exit.
Hammerstein, what are your thoughts on this year's J-1 Summit tour?
Hammerstein looks more than a little perturbed at Sue's questioning, but he rubs his chin and grins at the interviewer.
You think you're slick, don't you, Sue2? “Let's jump in front of Hammerstein and force him into making some comments.” Okay, I'll bite. You want comments? I'll give you some comments.
You know the last J1 Summit didn't go too well for me. I mean, I made an impact, but I didn't walk away with much. And making an impact doesn't translate to making money. So when this year's J1 Summit was announced, I almost declined the invitation.
That is, until I saw who had already signed on.
When I saw the names that has thrown their hat in the ring, I knew I had to RSVP.
Sue, this year's road is just as rough as last year's, if not rougher, and to tell you the truth, I'm happy as hell about it.
Just look at who's on the tour.
There's the usual suspects. You know, ZENKI and the Demon Brigade, Edwards, Musket, in the rest. But there's also some new faces in the crowd. There's a legend who wants to make a big comeback. A mask guy who wants to make a name for himself. And the moron who judging by some of the things he said about me, just wants to get his ass kicked.
Vegas, if you're going to try to insult someone, you need to get your damn facts straight.
As it pertains to The WALL, you've got your head so far up your own ass that you have no idea what we stand for.
But listen to me, because I'm gonna say this really slowly and really clearly, so even YOU and everyone else on this tour can understand it.
When I'm in Max-J, I represent no one but myself. Winning this J-1 Summit isn't for The WALL, this is for me and my family. And the way I see it, everyone that steps into the ring against me is trying to take money out of my pocket, food off my table, and the roof over my wife and baby’s head.
And I WILL NOT allow that to happen.
So this goes out to EVERYBODY in this J-1 Summit. When you step into the ring with me, I'm not gonna see you as a cult leader, a manwhore, an inbred mountain man, or some emo punk ass bitch.
I'll be looking at a bunch of common thieves, trying to steal from my family.
