FROM THE DESK OF SOLOMON BENTLEY...
Mike Musket and ZENKI working together. Wait, what?Well, I guess Hell must have frozen over.
Going into MAXIMUM Japan Pro-Wrestling’s two-day stop in Kyoto for the SUNSET KYOTO event, a Tokyo Amazing! Sports Network beat reporter Sagara Fusanosuke presented footage showing Mike Musket and ZENKI training together in a judo dojo located downtown! Speaking to the two men, ZENKI said that representing Japan in KAMIKAZE PRO’s upcoming Lords of the Ring trios tournament demanded a temporary ceasefire on his mission to rid the promotion of “gaijin filth”. He declared that along with Tokyo Zombie, who was busy in meditation, the Demon Brigade banner would reign above all other teams during the tournament and he promised to humiliate the foreigners that dared trespass into the country.
Mike Musket – after hearing a translation of ZENKI’s comments and laughing about “his good Japanese friend’s sense of humor” – said that he couldn’t wait to “muscle and tussle” with any of the possible thirty-one teams that await them. When asked what he would do with the winnings of the tournament, he declared build a cabin on Mt. Fuji “with all the fixings – running water and everything!”. If for no other reason than the sake of Mike Musket’s hygiene, let’s all root for Team MAX Japan in the upcoming tournament! The tour will begin on 4/22 in Tokyo, bell time at 5:00pm.
Pulver vs. Shimada
In other news, a crowd of fans stopped the 2017 Sword of Lite Grand Prix winner and reigning MAX-J Jr. Heavyweight Champion Matt Pulver in the street just outside of a ramen shop in downtown Yokohama. The fans wished him luck and hoped that he would transform the junior heavyweight division in MJPW into the world’s best. He nodded and told them he would do his best to build the division. One wonders what the former heavyweight star Mitsuo Shimada, who has dropped down into the junior division for this match, would say! Pulver will attempt his V2 defense against Shimada in the main event on 4/15.
