J1 SUMMIT DAY 5
8/21/2018
MIRAI DOME, YOKOHAMA, JAPAN
Chaos again...
The entrance to the arena was flooded with fans as SHIMADA Juice had opened up a booth for the event and where passing out free samples to the crowd. Finally pressured into being a spokesman to put a name with a face, Mistuo Shimada sat at the booth and signed recently released collectors’ cups for the startup brand causing flocks of fans to rush to the booth.
Even MOUNTAIN BRO’s and Zealots where in line to try the new sensation, which only leered as a bomb waiting to go off. While pushing forward in line a Mountain Bro fell into a Zealot in the front of the line, who quickly turned around to deliver a Zenki styled shuto to the larger man’s chest, getting a face palm that sent the smaller man flying and uproar of laughter from another Bro.
Fighting eventually broke out until security managed to calm the crowd and arrest those parties involved. When escorted away the bros could be heard screaming that they blamed their “drunken” attacks on SHIMADA Juice’s secret ingredient. Once things where calmed down Shimada’s stalker appeared behind him and latched onto him in a warm embrace from behind, only to be sent flying into the table as Shimada on high alert counter her affections with a swift Judo Throw. Clutching his head Shimada retreated into the arena as paramedics attended the pour, and drenched, stalker.
In usually fashion the Demon Brigade appeared to the roar of the local fans, riding what could only be described as a giant man dressed as a spider to the ring. Lotus Blossoms and small spider toys littered the rampway, GRIM’s local fan base sprayed each other with red mist from their blood caps placed in their mouths.
GRIM and METAL HERO started off the match in a technical bout that saw both men breaking out all the stops. GRIM eventually began working the head and neck of HERO, eventually trying to rip the helmet from his head which would cost him dearly. HERO would knock him to the ground with a jumping knee off the second turnbuckle that sent GRIM into his corner where Lord Zenki would make the tag, HERO then to would tag in Shensi Dashi. Even Zenki would use this tag match to show that not only was he MAX Heavyweight Champion, but he too was a notable Super Jr. in his own right. The two men would make use of acrobatics to reverse armlocks, headlocks, and even both men countering turnbuckle attacks using the top turn buckle to launch over the opponent or with backflips.
The match would eventually evolve into Dashi going chop to shuto with the MAX Heavyweight Champion, a battle he would quickly began to lose until countering by sliding under the arm of Zenki to nail a quick german suplex. With Zenki lying on his back Dashi would pull him to his feet and attempt a vertical suplex, which Zenki counter with a leg check into a brainbuster for the 3 count.
After the break Shimada would attempt to go toe to toe with Kusumoto, a decision that would cost him some skin in the long run. After repeated attempts to knock the Golem down, Shimada would seemingly get nothing more than a stone faced stare down with Kusumoto, eventually deciding to feint a haymaker right, only to reposition for a single leg take down.
Kusomoto could be seen disliking the new situation, being a larger man who preferred to beat his opponents senseless but attempted to hold his own against Shimada who would constantly stay on the attack of the man’s legs. Repeated anklelocks and figure four maneuvers would be broken when Kusumoto would grab the ropes. Shimada would then begin stomping on the back of Kusomoto’s right leg, only to get caught in a scissor leg takedown which would allow the Boulder from Akashi getting to his feet.
The two men would go through another exchange of blows, which this time would end with Daichi getting the upper hand. Eventually he would send Shimada running into the corner, who would turn to slam his back into the turnbuckle and then make a mad dash for Kusumoto, who effortlessly caught him in a running STO, bouncing Shimada’s head off the mat scoring an easy pinfall.
The undefeated Zombie would match up against Seattle Pro’s Hero Robb Daniels in a display of pure counter culture. Daniels would constantly taunt Zombie after every exchange, drawing out the contest. But Daniels would find it hard to taunt Zombie into a trap, as the Buddhist monk had spent years taming his own spirit.
Eventually it would be Daniels who would lose his cool after and exchange found him sent to the outside after a violent shoulder check. Instead of collecting his cool Daniels seemed to get angrier, taunting the audience and spitting in the face of a Zealot who would toss his SHIMADA juice in his face.
This did seem to upset Tokyo Zombie enough that he would move to attack Daniels as he entered the ring, but the snake had planned for that, sliding back out quickly and pulling the feet from under Zombie giving him time to slide into the ring and start unloading an assault. Eventually Daniels would pull Zombie to his feet and attempt a kick to the gut, to set up the stunner, only to get his leg caught and himself on the receiving end of the Vise of Virtue.
Zombie seemed unimpressed by himself and would move forward to sweep Daniels remaining leg from under him while driving forward to spike Daniels head into the mat. Zombie would remain with the hold locked on until Daniels found himself tapping out, continuing Zombie’s undefeated streak.
After the match Zombie would be greeted in the back by "Genki" Sano who looked like the strangest main wearing long wet hair with a yellow business suit. He would announce to not only Zombie, but to the fans at large that MAX had entered a friendship with other federations around the world and had entered Zombie's name to compete in the upcoming Destiny 8 tournament. Information however appeared to be small, as "Genki" wanted to leave the fans in suspense and no distracted from the J1.
“Mountain” Shinjiro and James Edwards match could be explained only as brutal. The beginning of the match would see Shinjiro using his size to manhandle Edward’s into a corner only to ram his own body into that of Edwards to wear him down. Using his size to his advantage Shinjiro would block off most of the ring. He would even absorb kicks from Edwards just to get into close so that he could toss Edwards across the ring like yesterday’s garbage.
Eventually Shinjiro would make a massive mis calculation and attempt to clothesline Edwards to the outside, only to find the former King of Lion’s Champion dropping to the apron while pulling down the top rope, sending Shinjiro toppling to the outside.
This is where we take you to the action...
The scene on Shinjiro who lies motionless on the ground for a moment.
TIM FLOSS:
MY GAWD! MY GAWD! The Mountain goes crashing to the ground.
ALBERT MORDECAI:
Edwards has unparalleled ring presence Tim. The mans been fighting in so many rings over the years he doesn't even need eyes to see where he is.
Eventually we would find both men making their way to their feet, with Edwards quickly running to the other side of the ring just in time to meet Shinjiro with a baseball slide to the back sending him slamming into the guardrail chest first.
ALBERT MORDECAI:
That's the American Spirit!
TIM FLOSS:
I'm surprised Shinjiro didn't just slam right through those railings Al.
Sliding out of the ring Edwards would make his way over to Shinjiro and start unloading kicks into the base of his spine as the ref began the count, softening the big man up. Growing tired of watching the ugly beast scream in pain. Sliding in and out of the ring to break up the ref's count.

ALBERT MORDECAI:
Great men are capable of great things Tim. Do it Edwards! Do it!
Before he could make his move Shinjiro would reposition himself to get an arm in between Edward's legs, countering the hold by lifting Edwards into the air and Fallaway Slamming him into THE RINGPOST!
TIM FLOSS:
What in the name of grits is going on!

Groaning in pain, Shinjiro would roll in and out of the ring as well only to reclaim the lifeless body of Edwards and returning him to the ring. Pulling up the battered man would prove silly after all as Edwards explodes with life and starts waling the bigger man with wild right left combos that stagger the larger man into the ropes. As Edwards moves to Irish whip Shinjiro across the ring, The Mountain uses his massive size to pull Edwards into the stiffest lariat ever heard. He moves for the pin.

PA ANNOUNCER-BURTON FASK
AND THE WINNER OF THIS J1 SUMMIT BOUT... Mountain Shinjro!!
With that stellar performance Shinjiro would secure his spot in the semi finals.
In the final match of the evening the fans watched as Hammerstein and Musket would both pull out all the stops to put one another down. Musket seemed to desire strongly to avenge his loss at last’s years summit to Hammerstein and quickly would lock Hammer in a battle of strength. Not to be out done by the smaller men on the card Hammerstein at one point would be pushed back by Musket till only the crown of his head and balls of his feet rested on the apron.
Surprisingly Hammer would muscle his way back onto his feet being greet with a stiff knee to the gut that resulted in Musket whipping the younger man to the apron with a snap suplex transitioned into a headlock on the mat.
After a short exchange of catch wrestling on the mat, full of submission attempts by both parties, Musket would again lock on a headlock that saw Hammer muscling his way back to his feet. Pushing Musket off of him both men would run into opposite ropes and meet in the middle with a Pounce vs. Lariat combo that sent both men into the mat. Eventually however, Hammerstein would be the one to crawl over and pin the former Heavyweight Champion.
